About Us
Blatero Studio is a small independent game development team based in Taranto, Italy, with one goal: making the video games we would want to play first. Winners of the StarTAp 2025 grant and of the Google for Startups program, we are currently developing our first titles.
The Team
Alberto Buscicchio
After a lifetime spent visualizing other people’s ideas as a 2D/3D artist, he founded Blatero Studio to finally start drawing his own nightmares. A professional overthinker with a serious case of impostor syndrome, he’s the mind behind the team’s aesthetic. If everything looks like garbage, you know who to blame.
Angelo Iaia
Expert in 3D modeling, virtual and augmented reality, and 3D printing. He gives three-dimensional body to the studio’s worlds: someone had to drag our hand-drawn nightmares into the third dimension, and he volunteered.
Mauro Smiraglia
Senior programmer, devoted to the cult of clean code and problem solving, but with the soul of a philosopher. He spent years building scalable architectures and web solutions for the digital transformation of companies. Now he uses those same high-level skills to keep our creative deliriums running without blowing up the servers. Our last and only bastion of rationality. Maybe.
Alessandro Buscicchio
Robotics engineer with an aerospace PhD. He worked at NASA (JPL) on systems of staggering complexity and founded a space-tech startup (Astradyne) that raised 2 million euros. Now he lends his managerial skills to Blatero Studio and leads AI-driven innovation. Honestly, we still haven’t figured out what a brain like his is doing among us.
